Making Her Community A Better Place
March 12, 2019
Catherine Ann Livingston was a native of Cedar Falls, Iowa and believed in making her community a better place for everyone. An active community advocate, Catherine wanted to make an impact in a way that would touch lives of future generations. She did this through her activism for environmental issues and did all she could to make her community stronger.
Catherine passed away in 2006, but kept her wish for impacting her community alive through the establishment of the Catherine Ann Livingston Fund.
The advised field of interest fund, held with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, was established to support several specific areas important to her and in honor of her parents. These include early childhood reading initiatives in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls metro area, projects for beautification and improvements in downtown Cedar Falls, and efforts to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
Catherine's passion and love for her community lives on because of her vision and generosity.
