Grantmaking Snapshot: Kossuth County RSVP Literacy Partners

Instilling a love of reading in our children is key to learning. A 2020 grant to the newly established Kossuth County Literacy Partners, an extension of Northwest Iowa RSVP and sponsored by Iowa Lakes Community College, helps provide free books to all first-grade students across Kossuth County this school year. RSVP volunteers organized book distributions, and in lieu of being able to read to students in person, they created videos of themselves reading the books, some donned in full costume and props, so students have a reading partner as they enjoy their books.
