Project: Joice Library Book Shelving
Worth County Community Foundation
After a 2018 fire destroyed the building that housed city hall, the library, and the community center, the city of Joice rebuilt. The library is considered the heart of the community by many, so much that book donations from community members, along with new, replenished what was lost. A generous donor and a grant awarded from the Worth County Community Foundation covered the cost of the new book shelving units, which now houses the new library’s collection of materials.
The establishment of the Worth County Community Foundation was made possible by the Jaspers Family. Maynard and Marjory Jaspers were long time successful business owners in Worth County. They had three sons with no heirs. At his death, Donald Jaspers donated the proceeds from combined estates of the Jaspers Family to provide charitable support for WorthCounty. Four funds have been named in honor of the Jaspers Family which have laid the foundation for and encourage charitable giving in the community.
