This website is owned and operated by the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. Our intention is to inform and educate visitors about our work as a grantmaker, community resource and philanthropic partner to local individuals, families, and corporations. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect your information when you:

  • Register on our donor and/or applicant online systems;
  • Register for one of our of events;
  • Respond to a survey;
  • Fill out a form/application;
  • Make a donation;
  • Recommend a grant;
  • Respond to other communications for us to better understand your interests and needs.

The Community Foundation will take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. All information provided is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to provide security and privacy when you access fund information, initiate online fund transactions or send secure messages.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to help us tailor and continually improve your experience on our donor and applicant sites. We use your information in the following ways:

  • Responding to your inquiries;
  • Communicating with you about your account, submissions or transactions;
  • Communicating with you about upcoming events;
  • Sending you newsletters, mailings and information about our initiatives and events via email or another medium;
  • Processing your donation, competitive grant/scholarship application or grant recommendation request;
  • Event registration;
  • Performing statistical, demographic, and marketing analysis of our online users;
  • Personalizing content and experiences on our online system.

Your right to privacy is important to us. We will not sell, rent, or lease any personally identifying information you provide to any individual or organization.

The Community Foundation may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. However, unless otherwise requested by the donor, it may publish the names of individual donors in The Community Foundation’s Annual Report and other reported listings. In the case of memorial gifts, The Community Foundation will provide the names of donors to members of the immediate family unless the donor has requested anonymity. If a gift is made to a fund of the Community Foundation, donor information may be shared with advisors of the fund to which the gift was made, unless the donor has requested anonymity.

Where CFNEIA discloses your personal information to its agents or sub-contractors for these purposes, the agent or sub-contractor in question will be obligated to use that personal information in accordance with the terms of this privacy statement.

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified elsewhere above, CFNEIA may disclose your personal information to the extent that it is required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings, and in order to establish, exercise or defend its legal rights.

INFORMATION WE SHARE TO THE PUBLIC

The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa adheres to the highest standards of ethical practices in our operations and is dedicated to protecting the privacy of all our online users.

Under IRS Code, the following foundation documents are public information:

  • IRS Forms 990 and affiliated schedules;
  • Exemption letter from the IRS;
  • Approved application for exemption with supporting documentation.

Lists of our donors are not available to the public. We do not reveal the name of anonymous donors or funds to the recipient of a grant.

HOW WE USE COOKIES
