The Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation Endowment Fund has been established with the Kossuth County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, by donors Jerry and Kristie Brown and Charles and Linda Redemske. The endowment fund will provide long-term financial support to benefit the activities of Water’s Edge Nature Center.
“We believe in the mission of Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation and its work to promote and support the efforts of the Kossuth County Conservation Board,” said Linda Redemske, fund co-founder and Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation treasurer. “This fund will ensure the Foundation has a consistent funding source to continue its work forever.”
The Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation was formed in 2002 with the purpose to help raise funds for the completion of the nature center and to provide funds for displays, furnishings, and educational programs to promote environmental education in Kossuth County. Funding is also used for field trips for Kossuth County elementary students and scholarships for graduating seniors choosing to study in the fields of environmental science and education.
Gifts of any size to the fund are welcome and can be made on the Community Foundation’s secure website at fund.cfneia.org/watersedge. Gifts can also be made by check to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, 3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls, IA, 50613. Checks should be made payable to the Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation Endowment Fund.
The Water’s Edge Nature Center Foundation Endowment Fund is professionally managed and invested to grow over time. Gifts to the endowment fund are eligible to receive a 25% state tax credit through the Endow Iowa program. More information about the Endow Iowa program can be found at cfneia.org/endowiowa.
