Franklin County Community Foundation Distributes $132,107 to Local Nonprofit Organizations

The Franklin County Community Foundation (FCCF) held its 2022 grant awards celebration at the Hampton Country Club on April 21, announcing the distribution of $132,107 to 22 projects of organizations serving Franklin County through its 2022 grant cycle.

“The Franklin County Community Foundation is proud to support these nonprofit agencies and government organizations to ensure they are able to offer the programs and services which create more vibrant communities for all people in Franklin County,” said Michelle Sackville, chair of the FCCF governing committee.

Arts & Culture

  • Franklin County Fair & Convention Center, Fairground Sound Systems, $10,000
  • Franklin County Historical Society, Harriman-Nielsen Historic Farm Barn Repairs and Painting, $6,300
  • Windsor Theatre Development Corporation, Building Updates, $5,000

Community Betterment

  • City of Coulter, Administration – Main Street and Freedom Corridor Flags, $1,800
  • City of Coulter, Public Works – Generator 2022, $1,000
  • City of Hansell, Fire Department – Thermal Imaging Camera, $2,775
  • City of Sheffield, Public Pool Upgrades, $10,000
  • Dows Rural Fire Association, Fire Station Furnace Replacement, $3,300
  • Kiwanis Club of Hampton, East Park Playground, $10,000

Education & Youth Development

  • CAL Community School District, Farm to School Project, $6,000

Decisions on grant awards are determined by a local committee, which consists of volunteers from Franklin County. Committee members include: Jeanie Arends, Dennis Carlson, Ted Hughes, Aimee Lenth, Kayla Norman, Anne Plagge, Nicole Poock, Eric Reicherts, Jamie Reinke and Michelle Sackville (chair).

Grants are awarded through FCCF’s competitive grant process to projects in the program areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization or government entity serving Franklin County in order to be considered for funding. The 2023 grant cycle opens December 1, 2022, with an application deadline of January 15, 2023. The grant guidelines and application can be found at www.franklinccf.org.
