The Floyd County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, has allocated $15,000 to the Floyd County COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund. This fund was established to provide a flexible, responsive funding source to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on Floyd County.
“This is an unprecedented time for our local community which is why the Floyd County Community Foundation made the decision to allocate $15,000 to the COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund,” said Charlie Newman, chair of the Floyd County Community Foundation Governing Committee. “We know the need is great right now and we hope other individuals, businesses and organizations in Floyd County join the collaborative effort to support our community by contributing to the fund.”
The Floyd County COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund provides an opportunity for the public to give in response to local needs related to this disaster. Giving through the Community Foundation provides reassurance that donations will be used to quickly move resources where they are most needed, especially as these needs evolve. Gifts can also be directed to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, 3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls, IA 50613. Checks should be made out to Floyd County COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund. Online gifts are strongly encouraged in order to make funding accessible for quick response to needs.
Grants from the disaster response fund will be administered in collaboration with organizations coordinating pandemic response efforts. Funds will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the COVID-19 disaster, making it possible to move resources quickly and to adapt to evolving needs in subsequent phases of the crisis recovery efforts.
