Fayette County Community Foundation Awards $113,914 in Grants to Local Organizations

The Fayette County Community Foundation held its annual grant awards ceremony on April 11, announcing the distribution of $113,914 in grants to 15 area nonprofits and government agencies.

“The work these deserving organizations do to create a stronger county is critical to making our communities places where everyone can thrive,” said Vicki Rowland, Fayette County Community Foundation committee chair. “The Fayette County Community Foundation is proud to be a partner in their work, and we are thankful for the generosity of community-minded people who make this impact possible.”

Grant recipients and the project the grant will fund are listed below by funding areas.

Art & Culture

  • Fayette Co Ag Society, Fayette County Fair Grandstands Renovation Project, $5,000
  • Williams Center, Replacing Sound Equipment and Spotlights in Auditorium, $10,000

Community Betterment:

  • City of St. Lucas, St. Lucas Park, $10,000
  • City of Waucoma, Waucoma Public Library Update, $10,000
  • Greater Oelwein Area Charitable Foundation, Downtown Electrical Upgrade, $10,000
  • Larrabee School Foundation, Larrabee School --Dormer Restoration Project, $10,000
  • Northeast Iowa RC&D, Evaluating Mitigation Alternatives for Clermont's Low-Head Dam to Enhance Safety and Recreation, $10,000

Historic Preservation

  • Friends of the Elgin Public Library, Living, Learning, and Loving History, $3,280

Human Service

  • City of Hawkeye, Fire Department - Emergency Sirens, $10,000
  • Fayette County Food Shelf, Out of the Ashes - Phase 4 - Final Phase, $10,000
  • Oelwein Area Council of Churches, Oelwein Area Community Kitchen Cupboard Food Supplement and Baby Program(s), $8,000
  • St. Lucas Firefighters Association, St. Lucas Community Fire Station, 10,000
