Update: Community Foundation Operations and Response
CFNEIA
March 23, 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our state and we are all working to navigate the ever-changing landscape of this public health crisis. The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa wants to keep our partners informed of the actions we are taking during this time.
Staff and Community Health
Starting Monday, March 23, our office is closed to the public. Only Community Foundation staff and mail delivery personnel will be allowed in our physical space. Staff continue to be available for our partners through their office phone number and emails during normal business hours. We also continue to process donations to our charitable funds and grants to our nonprofit partners. All CFNEIA and affiliate events through April 30 have been cancelled or postponed.
Responding to Our Communities
The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa and its affiliates are “here for good” for our communities as a funder and community leader. During this time of critical need across our region, we continue to partner with our communities. To assist in responding to this crisis, COVID-19 Disaster Recovery Funds have, and continue to be, established across our region. These funds have been established to serve specific counties within our region. The funds have been established in partnership with other funders and our volunteer affiliate governing committees.
Currently, Black Hawk County and six affiliate counties have established COVID-19 Disaster Response Funds. Click here to see if your county has established a fund and to find information on how to make a donation to a fund. These funds will be responsive to nonprofits providing basic needs services and organizations working with individuals and families who have been disproportionately impacted by the public health and economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. Details on how funds will be distributed and if there are opportunities to apply to for funds will be posted as they are determined on a county by county basis.
Thank you to all our partners as we work together during this difficult time. We are in this together and together we will continue to make our communities better for all people.
