Ackley Community Foundation Distributes $9,864 to Local Nonprofit Organizations

The Ackley Community Foundation held its 2024 grant awards celebration at St. Johns UCC Church on October 16, announcing the distribution of $9,864 in grants to three projects of organizations serving Ackley.
Details regarding each awarded grant are included here:
Community Betterment
- Ackley Recreation Club, Tree Fund, $3,500
- Friends of the Ackley Public Library, Technology/Security Updates, $1,364
- Hansen Family Hospital Foundation, EKG Machine for Ackley Medical Center, $5,000
Grant selections are determined by a local committee consisting of volunteers from the Ackley area. Committee members include Paula Abbas, Sheryl Arends, Korey DeBerg, Krista Dieken, Jeff Frazier, Becky Jansonius, Barb Keninger, Matt McNeal, Jeff Stubbe, and Taresa Trueblood.
Grants are awarded through Ackley Community Foundation’s competitive grant process to projects in the program areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service. Grants are available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government entities serving Ackley to be considered for funding. Tax-exempt organizations classified as other than 501(c)(3) are also eligible, if and only if, the project is deemed charitable. The 2025 grant cycle opens May 15 with an application deadline of July 15. The grant guidelines and application will be available at www.ackleycf.org.
