Scholarship Criteria

One-year scholarships for students graduating from South Winneshiek High School and who will be attending an accredited university, junior college, or trade school. Students must demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities and leadership skills. Preference goes to students who have work experience while attending high school. Additional preference for students who are high achieving academically. To apply, contact the South Winneshiek Dollars for Scholars.

Give to the Fund

Financial gifts to the Balik Family Memorial Scholarship Fund with the Winneshiek County Community Foundation allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
